Year 8 and Year 9 Mathematics Study Tour – Paris and Disneyland Paris

Dear Parent/Carer,

 

The Mathematics Department are offering the opportunity of a 4-day trip to Paris, France, for 40 students from Year 8 and Year 9.

 

The trip, which will take place from Tuesday 28th June 2021– Friday 1st July 2021 inclusive. This includes a visit to Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, which is the largest Science museum in Europe and has a section devoted to mathematics. There are also opportunities for students to experience some of the cultural aspects of France, including a tour of Paris, a River Seine cruise and the opportunity to climb Montparnasse Tower. There is also a scheduled visit to Disneyland, Paris. Students will be staying at a hotel on the outskirts of Paris, near Disneyland Paris, and three meals a day will be provided, including a visit to the Hard Rock Café. 

 

The cost of the trip is £530. This payment is a voluntary contribution to the overall cost of the trip. Without coverage of costs, the trip may not proceed.

 

Non-refundable deposit 1:              £100-30th November 2021

Instalment 2:                                      £150-31st January 2022

Instalment 3:                                      £150-28th February 2022

Instalment 4:                                      £130-31st March 2022

 

There are only 40 places available and the trip will go live on SchoolComms on Tuesday 30th November. Each place will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you would like your son/daughter to take part in this trip, please consent and pay the deposit of £100 via SchoolComms. This consent includes your permission for photographs to be taken of your child. If you object to your son/daughter being captured in photographs, please contact Mrs Middup on 0121 444 4161.

 

Regarding COVID considerations, if your child was to contract COVID pre travel that individual would get a full refund (excluding the £100 initial deposit). If the full tour could not travel due to COVID travel restriction, again you would be covered for a full refund.

 

If you are unsuccessful in securing a place for your son/daughter then please contact Mrs Durkin in the Pastoral Office to request that your child is placed on a reserve list for the trip. If and when a place becomes available you will be contacted directly.
