Bishop Challoner Catholic College is delighted to announce that alongside our partner and friends at St Alban’s Catholic Primary School, we have successfully been selected to become a demonstrator School as part of the EdTech Demonstrators Programme.
This is a new network of schools and colleges to share best practice on remote education, that will assist and help schools with their remote learning during these unprecedented times.
Schools Minister Nick Gibb said:
“As schools, parents and children adapt to the changing environment we are all faced with, it is vital that we provide them with the right support so young people are able to continue their education.
“Through close partnership with the education sector and two of the world’s biggest tech companies, we are working to ensure that children can continue their studies while they are at home.
The Government has committed over £100 million to boost remote education and part of this allows for expert technical support to get schools set up on Google for Education or Microsoft’s Office 365 Education. This will be facilitated through peer support from schools and colleges leading the way with the use of education technology.
The programme was announced last year to boost peer-to-peer support on the effective use of technology and has now been tailored to help schools and colleges provide education remotely. Further information on the programme is available through the EdTech Demonstrator website: https://edtech-demonstrator.lgfl.net/
We cannot wait to get started and look forward to working alongside our colleagues to enable remote education for all students during these unusual times.
