Thank you for your interest in Bishop Challoner Sixth Form College.  We hope this prospectus will assist you in considering your options at this exciting stage in your academic career.

At Bishop Challoner Sixth Form College you will have the opportunity to be part of a vibrant and highly successful college of nearly 300 students.  We pride ourselves in offering a strong sense of sixth form identity and community at the heart of a highly successful Catholic college.  Within this context we offer outstanding teaching and student guidance in a supportive and caring environment.  As an inclusive sixth form we welcome students from all faith backgrounds and none, we simply ask that all sixth formers are respectful and supportive of our mission statement, which is rooted in our faith. Should you choose to further your education with us, we can assure you of our commitment to helping you reach your full potential.

We are very proud of our success, which was acknowledged when we became one of the first schools in the country to be designated as a Teaching School; we lead by example, in Birmingham and beyond.  Our reputation for academic achievement is a direct result of students and staff working together in a friendly working environment.  We offer our students a range of educational opportunities: over 20 A Level courses and vocational qualifications in Sport, Business, Health and Social Care and IT.  There is a wealth of study and recreational facilities including a state of the art sports centre, well-equipped science laboratories, media suites, a dance studio, recording studio and an auditorium, which accommodates drama, music and media productions at a highly professional level.

As well as a wide range of academic subjects, students are offered a wide range of enrichment activities, which enable them to acquire and develop transferable skills which, in an ever-changing world, will be essential both for higher education and work.  There are excellent opportunities to participate in activities as wide ranging as sport, drama, music, foreign exchanges and work placements.

With a commitment to serving the most vulnerable in society through charitable work and with strong links in our local community, our students really embody our mission statement “We give glory to God by developing our full potential and in our service to others”.

At Bishop Challoner Sixth Form College, you will enter into an adult partnership with us, designed to enable you to succeed in your chosen courses and in your future studies and careers.  There is no uniform for Sixth Form students but we do have a Dress Code; students are expected to wear ‘smart casual’, precise details of this are found in the Student/Parent/Carer handbook.
