Dear Parents/Carers
Supporting our local community
Bishop Challoner Catholic College sits at the heart of the local community, it is therefore essential that all students represent the school as we would expect when travelling to and from school and in the local area.
Wherever possible, it is our duty and a vital part of our Catholic mission to reach out and support our local community. We ask you to remind your son/daughter of the following-
- Avoid congregating in groups in public areas and be self aware
- Be considerate to local residents by ensuring pavements are kept clear to allow others to pass safely
-
Be mindful of others whilst waiting for public transport and when using public transport
- Disperse quickly from the school site and local area at the end of the school day
We ask that students come straight into school on arrival to Kings Heath and avoid hanging around on the High St or in the local area. As above, we also ask that students disperse quickly and safely from the school site. If students need to use public transport, we ask that they wait at their bus stop and not outside of shops or fast food outlets.
If a student does not feel safe in the local area we advise them to return to school if possible. If they are at risk of immediate danger, call 999.
We will, of course, continue to reiterate these key messages in school and we hope that parents/carers will continue to work in partnership with us in reinforcing these messages at home as well.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Mr D Hearnden
Vice Principal
