Dear Parent/Carer

We are delighted to confirm that the Year 13 Prom will take place on Thursday 29th June 2023 at Highbury Hall, Yew Tree Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 8QG.  The evening is planned to commence at 7.30pm and close at 11pm.  All students in Year 13 are warmly invited and we look forward to celebrating their time as members of Bishop Challoner Sixth Form College and to wish them well as they begin the next important stage in their lives.

We have made every effort to keep the event as affordable as possible and tickets will cost £30, which includes a buffet.  Flexible payment options are available on Schoolcomms and we would request that all tickets are purchased in full by Friday 26th May at the latest.

There will be a DJ and bar during the evening and the Year 13 Prom is always a lovely occasion which relies on high standards of behaviour for everyone’s enjoyment.  Any student wishing to purchase alcoholic drinks will need to be over 18 and show valid ID.  Those eligible and wishing to consume alcohol must do so in moderation.

If we have reason to suspect that students have put themselves at risk through excessive alcohol consumption, we will contact parents/carers, who will then need to make suitable arrangements.

Highbury Hall has beautiful extensive grounds and students are free to use the patio and lawn but are not permitted to go beyond this area.

Students must make arrangements to get home safely at the end of the evening.  For health and safety reasons any student leaving before 11pm must sign out with a member of staff. We strongly advise that students arrange for taxis to collect them from Highbury Hall.  There is a carpark available, should parents/carers prefer to collect their child from the Prom.  We are aware that some students will continue their celebrations after the Prom is over. Please be aware that once students have left the venue, parents/carers are responsible for their safety.

I very much hope that all students will be able to join us for this celebration.  I would ask that you please give your consent on Schoolcomms, giving two emergency contact numbers.  Students will not be admitted to the Prom if we have not received this.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Yours sincerely

Dr Osborne

Head of Year 13
