Image of Industrial Action

Dear Parent/Carer

Following my letter of 7th March, I am writing to draw your attention to the bus strike announced by National Express West Midlands. This strike is scheduled for Thursday 16th March and coincides with industrial action taking place at Bishop Challoner on the same day.

Our arrangements for opening the school on Thursday 16th March have not changed since my letter of 7th March, and are detailed below:

Arrangements for Thursday 16th March by Year Group

The table below details the arrangements for each year group.

Year 7, 8 and 9

Students are not required to attend school and will be provided with remote learning which can be accessed on Class Charts and the school website.

Year 10

All students are required to attend school as normal

Year 11

All students are required to attend school as normal. Study sessions will not run after school.

Year 12

Students are not required to attend school and will be provided with remote learning which can be accessed on Class Charts and the school website.

Year 13

All students are required to attend college as normal. Some lessons may not run if staff are on strike and students are expected to engage in independent study during these times. Study guides for all subjects are available on the school website:

The school day will conclude at the end of period 4, i.e.1.10pm

 

For those students that are required to attend school on this day, we understand that the planned bus strike will present challenges in getting into school. We ask that you bear this in mind when planning your child’s journey.
