BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Information Technology
What will I learn?
This qualification is designed for learners who are interested in an introduction to the study of creating IT systems to manage and share information, alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in IT.
During the completion of the course students will complete 4 units of work spanning a wide breadth of technology topics. Students will begin by looking at Information Technology Systems, where they will study the role of computer systems and the implications of their use in personal and professional situations. Creating Systems to Manage Information will see learners study the design, creation, testing and evaluation of a relational database system to manage information. This is accompanied by Using Social Media in Business where students explore how businesses use social media to promote their products and services. Students also implement social media activities in a business to meet requirements. The fourth unit of work will see students complete an internally assessed piece of work on Website Development.
