Dear Parent/Carer,
Basketball Super League Finals
Your child has a wonderful opportunity to attend the Basketball Super League Finals trip at the Utilita arena on Sunday 26th January 2024. The event doors will open at 11am, offering students the opportunity to witness an exciting series of basketball matches. The day's schedule includes the Super League Trophy Men’s Semi-Finals, featuring Leicester Riders V Newcastle Eagles and Bristol Flyers V Cheshire Phoenix. Additionally, the Super League Trophy Women’s Semi-Finals will showcase Essex Rebels V Oaklands Wolves and Caledonia Gladiators V B Braun Sheffield Hatters.
A plan of the day is as follows:
- 10am - Meet and register at Bishop Challoner
- 10.30am - Depart
- 12pm - Women’s Final
- 2pm - Slam Dunk Contest
- 3.30pm - Men’s Final
- 5.30pm-6pm - Return to Bishop Challoner
Throughout the day, attendees will be treated to entertainment, music, and fan engagement activities off the court, complementing the thrilling basketball action. We are confident that this event will provide a memorable and enjoyable experience for all participants. Students will be transported by minibus and are required to wear comfortable, appropriate clothing. They must bring a packed lunch, including a bottle of water. Students with any medical conditions must carry the necessary medication. While students may bring their mobile phones, they do so at their own risk. In the event of a delayed return, the mobile phone will allow your child to contact you directly. Students can also bring spending money with them if they wish.
The cost for this trip is £27. This payment is a voluntary contribution to the overall cost of the fieldtrip. Without coverage of costs, the trip may not proceed.
There are only 15 places available on this trip. Each place will be allocated on a first come first served basis by registering through Schoolcomms, which will go live on Wednesday 8th January at 7:30am. If you would like your child to take up this opportunity then please consent and pay the fee of £27 by Friday 10th January.
If due to personal circumstances you need an extended period of time to pay the deposit then please get in touch with me to discuss in confidence at your earliest convenience. This consent includes your permission for photographs to be taken of your child. If you object to your child being captured in the photographs please contact me on 0121 444 4161.
If you are unsuccessful in securing a place for your child then please contact Mrs Durkin in the Pastoral Office to request that your child is placed on a reserve list for the named trip. If and when a place becomes available you will be contacted directly.
