Dear Parent/Carer
As we begin the spring term, I wanted to wish you all a happy New Year and hope that 2023 brings health, happiness and peace to you and your family.
The Parent Consultation Day in December was a very informative day and provided you with the opportunity to review the progress that your son/daughter has made since September.
As a result of the assessment data we have collected since September, we believe it is now appropriate to introduce some partial setting within the Year 7 curriculum. As such I would like to advise you of some likely changes to student’s classes later this term.
Subjects where partial setting will take place include:
- Mathematics
- Science
- Computing
- French
- Dramatic studies
- Music
Other subjects will remain as mixed-ability classes for the remainder of Year 7.
Partial setting in the subjects listed above will begin after February half term. Any change is not based on a single assessment, they are being introduced to ensure that all students continue to have the most appropriate support for their individual academic and holistic growth.
As a school, we are dedicated to providing the best education and support for our students. I would encourage all Year 7 students to continue working to the best of their ability and focus in the classroom and around the school.
