Important information on vaccinations for travel to France
Year 8 and Year 9 Mathematics Study Tour
Paris and Disneyland Paris-28th June-1st July 2022
Dear Parent/Carer
We are delighted that travel restrictions are being eased and that our tour is set to go ahead this year. We are contacting you today to update on entry requirements for France which have been advised by our tour operator.
As you will appreciate the landscape is constantly changing and may again – for the better or worse – prior to June. However, at present we have been advised of the following:
Double Vaccination – All adults and students over 12 years old will need to be double vaccinated to enter France. Children can get a 1st dose of the vaccine from the day they turn 12. Most children can get a 2nd dose from 12 weeks after they had their 1st dose. Travellers must have had their final vaccine dose at least 14 days before departure.
From 3 February 2022, 12-15 year olds in England will be able to prove their vaccination status via a digital NHS COVID Pass for international outbound travel. This proof of vaccination will be sufficient for a ‘pass vaccinal’ which is required to gain entry to all the attractions, restaurants, museums etc we plan to visit on our trip.
Masks must be worn on all public transport, in all indoor venues and outdoor areas that have a high crowd level. Surgical style masks are recommended.
We have been informed by our tour operators, in terms of a cancellation as a result of not wishing to have a child vaccinated, it would be cancelling to their terms and conditions as they can still deliver the tour and vaccination is a personal choice, meaning there would be a cost implication if you were to remove your child from the trip.
If you have any concerns we would ask that you please get in touch without delay if you envisage any issues with the required vaccination status by email (h.middup@bishopchalloner.bham.sch.uk), or by phone on 0121 444 4161.
Kind regards
Mrs H Middup
