Dear Student and Parent/Carer,

Year 13 assessments

We would like to congratulate Year 13 students on the manner in which they completed their January mock exams. They displayed great maturity and it was a very positive fortnight. There is still work to do, but students should feel encouraged by their mock exam experience and understand that they continue to have our full support and encouragement.

Students are receiving assessment feedback in lessons and reflecting on how their performance in the mock exams will inform their continued studies.

Students will receive mock exam indicative grades the week beginning 7th February.

A report with a current estimated grade range and written comments will be sent home towards the end of March 2022. There will then be an opportunity for you to discuss this report with teachers at the parents/carers consultation on 30th March 2022.

There is still an absolute expectation that public examinations will go ahead next summer, and that Teacher Assessed Grades (TAG) will not to be needed.

On 7th February 2022, Ofqual, the exams regulator, plan to publish advanced information on the content of some A Level exams next summer. With this in mind, it is our intention that students will complete one week of mock examinations from Monday 28th March to 1st April 2022.  These will serve as a final opportunity for students to gain formal exam experience before their summer exams. Please be aware that this may be subject to change with the ongoing Covid situation.

Exam boards have now published their summer exam timetables, available on their websites. We will collate and communicate this information to students at a later date. Please be advised that exam boards can reschedule an exam until the 30th June 2022, so students must be available until this date.

As always, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any concerns or queries.

Best wishes,

Mrs Healy

Head of Year 13
