All Year 10 and Year 12 students are supported to secure work experience in the Summer term in an organisation or company that reflects the career ideas that the student has, or where he/she will gain a valuable insight into the world of work and develop key skills.
All potential placements are checked to ensure that they meet the appropriate health and safety requirements and have public liability insurance etc.

In recent years many employers have run virtual work experience programmes throughout the year, including during school holidays. Many of these virtual opportunities offer many benefits to students. We would encourage students to take part in relevant virtual placements where possible. We would advise parents/carers to be aware of any placements your son/daughter is signing up to as we cannot take any responsibility for the content of any online progammes. Some websites that list virtual vacancies include:
- Speakers4Schools - www.speakersforschools.org/experience-2/young-people/
- Springpod - www.springpod.com/
- Uptree - www.uptree.co/
How you can help
Talking to your son/daughter about work experience and the sort of career areas they are interested in is a good place to start. High quality work experience placements can be competitive, so talking to any contacts you have within your own network that may be able to offer work experience, as early as you can could be beneficial.
If you, or the organisation you work for would be willing to offer a young person work experience, please contact Mrs Newton at email@example.com. She will also be able to assist with any queries about work experience.
